FAQ

  • How will I know you are the right therapist for me?

The best way to understand if I am the right therapist for you is to schedule a consultation call. I offer complementary 10-15 minute consultation calls for prospective clients. During this call I can answer any questions you may have, you can share a little bit about why you are seeking therapy sessions and we can make sure that you feel comfortable. I believe that it is essential for you to feel safe with whomever you choose as your therapist.

  • Is online therapy right for me?

Online therapy can be just as effective as in-office therapy. I transitioned my office appointments to online with all clients (children, teens, and adults) during the 2020 pandemic. During this time I found that most clients gained just as much from our sessions while on Zoom as in the office. There is so much more flexibility with meeting online for both client and myself, but I do understand that some clients prefer to meet in an office setting. We can discuss your specific concerns and determine if online therapy is appropriate for you.

  • Do you accept insurance?

I do accept insurance. I am in-network with all UnitedHealth Care plans (UnitedHealth Care, Oxford, UMR, Oscar, UHC Student Resources, AllSavers UHC) as well as Aetna plans. I am also considered in-network with Optum EAP plans. If your mental health coverage is under one of these plans you would only be responsible for a copayment, coinsurance, or deductible. We can discuss sliding scale appointment spots or I can provide you with a superbill to submit to your plan for possible reimbursement if your mental health coverage is under a different plan. I utilize Alma for all insurance verification and billing. Alma will run a benefits check and email you with your exact financial responsibility once you enter your insurance information.

  • How often will we meet?

Session frequency is dependent on your reasons for seeking therapy, scheduling availability, and financial responsibilities. I typically recommend that clients attend sessions once per week, but some clients prefer every other week. We can discuss this during your consultation call or during your initial session.

  • How long do appointments last?

My session times are typically 45 minutes. Some clients prefer an hour. We can discuss how much time is most beneficial for you during your consultation call or during your initial appointment.

  • How much do you charge?

Session fees are dependent on the service being offered as well as time allotted for the session. 45 minute individual sessions are $150. Sixty minute individual sessions or family sessions are $175.
